Amitabh Bachchan to leave hospital within two days

Amitabh Bachchan is expected to be released from hospital within the next couple of days.

The Bollywood actor is showing signs of improvement following recent abdominal surgery, his doctors say.

"He is doing fine now. His health is also improving. He might be discharged by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow," an official from Mumbai's Seven Hills Hospital told Indian Express.

The 69-year-old actor has had recurring health problems since suffering an abdominal injury on the set of Coolie three decades ago.

The Sholay star posted an update of his health on Twitter.

"A welcome day! Many aspects improving, many reports positive, smiling satisfied faces all around... your prayers work so well... Hunger pangs swell for the first time... docs say it's good sign - hope so," he wrote.

Bachchan has been recuperating from the operation that took place on February 11.
