DC Comics' solicitations for October have revealed the Superman writer/artist will be heading the creative team on its title.
He will replace the current team of Joe Harris and Yildiray Cinar.
"Ronnie and Jason not only have to deal with a new twist to the Firestorm powers, but they also must face off against the murderous DataXen," said the publisher.
"New series writer/penciller Dan Jurgens blasts Firestorm in a whole new direction beginning this issue."
Jurgens was writing the recently cancelled Justice League International.
Firestorm was initially written by Gail Simone and Ethan Van Sciver. Simone was later replaced by Harris and Van Sciver is last credited on July's forthcoming issue #11.
The Fury of Firestorm: The Nuclear Men #13 will debut on October 24.
