The extended E3 trailer aired during last night's football match between England and France.
The TV spot offers a glimpse at the new-look Master Chief, the UNSC Infinity and the planet Requiem.
It ends with the tagline: "An ancient evil awakens."
Halo 4 is set four years after the events of its predecessor and marks the return of iconic hero Master Chief, representing the beginning of a brand new saga.
Halo 3 wrapped up the original trilogy in 2007, but the fate of Master Chief and his artificial intelligence companion Cortana was left open-ended.
Halo 4 will release exclusively on Xbox 360 on November 6 worldwide.
