The Sims 3: Seasons has been announced by Electronic Arts.

Releasing for the PC and Mac this November, the upcoming expansion adds transformative weather conditions, which see Sims develop tans, catch colds and get struck by lightning.

The game also welcomes numerous seasonal activities, such as spring dances, festivals, snowball fights, football matches, apple-bobbing, Jack-o'-lantern carving, igloo building and snowboarding.

The dynamic weather conditions will also herald the arrival of alien visitors, who can be used to abduct neighbours in their UFOs.

The add-on features numerous new items, foods and decorations, including tanning beds for summer, umbrellas, mistletoe, wetsuits and French fries.

Pre-ordering the expansion will net players the limited edition 'Ice Lounge', which adds a new ice-themed social venue, complete with 12 new objects.

Ice-themed objects and architecture include bars, stools, tables, dining chairs, sofas and columns, which can also be used in player's homes.
The latest Sims 3 expansion follows the likes of Showtime and Pets.

It will launch after September's Supernatural expansion, which adds werewolves, fairies, zombies, witches and vampires.

It also features gothic furniture and decorations, such as sliding bookcases and magical mirrors, as well as new career paths for fortune tellers and alchemy masters.
