Moyles announced live on air on Wednesday (July 11) that he will leave the Radio 1 Breakfast Show in September after eight years in the role. Nick Grimshaw was later confirmed as his replacement.

Speaking in the wake of Moyles's departure, Lord Webber revealed that the 38-year-old had wanted to continue presenting the show on the road while playing King Herod, but the plan was apparently vetoed by the BBC.
"I hope it's not due to me," the composer told The Sun. "He made the point that if he was in the regions he'd quite like to do the radio show.
"It's always a problem for the BBC as they are so guided by editorial policy."

The publication alleges that the corporation feared Moyles's Breakfast Show may overly promote Jesus Christ Superstar and instead asked for him to go on leave during its run.
Moyles will star alongside ex-Spice Girl Mel C (Mary Magdalene) and Tim Minchin (Judas) in the revival.
The title role will be played by the winner of ITV talent competition Superstar, a spinoff of Lloyd Webber's past BBC shows How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, Any Dream Will Do and I'd Do Anything.
