Moore admitted that he was a fan of Daniel Craig's interpretation of the MI6 spy, but described Quantum of Solace as "a long disjointed commercial".
The 84-year-old said of first Bond Sean Connery: "Sean is a good actor; it's a pity I can't understand what he's saying."
Moore nominated Johnny Depp as his favourite current actor and confessed that he was a big fan of Peter O'Toole.
"I'd have loved to have played Lawrence of Arabia, and I'd have loved to have been as talented as Peter O'Toole," he said.
The 23rd James Bond movie, rumoured to be titled Skyfall, will open in cinemas on October 26, 2012.
