'Man of Steel's Antje Traue joins 'The Seventh Son'

Antje Traue has been cast in The Seventh Son.

The Superman: Man of Steel actress will appear in Legendary Pictures' fantasy movie, reports Variety.

Traue will join a cast featuring Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes, Julianne Moore, Alicia Vikander and Kit Harington.

The Sergey Bodrov-directed movie is based on The Spook's Apprentice, the first volume in Joseph Delaney children's series 'The Wardstone Chronicles'.

Dorian Gray actor Barnes will star in the 18th century setting as Thomas J Ward, the seventh son of a seventh son who discovers that he has magical powers.

Traue will play Kryptonian villain Faora - an ally of Michael Shannon's General Zod - in the Henry Cavill-starring Man of Steel.

The Seventh Son, which will be produced by Basil Iwanyk (The Expendables 2), Lionel Wigram (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows) and Legendary's Thomas Tull, is due to begin filming in April.
