Terrence Malick has been accidentally captured on film.
On Saturday, June 9, TMZ caught Benicio Del Toro waiting near a valet stand with the reclusive director.
A video reporter for the website continued to ask Del Toro about which countries should be inducted in "the Union" without recognising Malick in the background, who was trying to avoid the cameras.
On Wednesday morning (June 13), New York Magazine's Vulture pointed out that it was indeed Malick who was with Del Toro.
Malick is known to be press shy, rarely promoting his movies and avoiding photographers if spotted.
Last year, Malick directed and wrote The Tree of Life, starring Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain.
Prior to The Tree of Life, Malick's last film was his 2005 release The New World.
