Gomez - who plays the daughter of Sandler's character in the animated movie - told Collider that she was very excited to meet the comic.
"He's awesome! He's so cool! He was there for almost all of my sessions," she recalled.
The star added: "[Adam] was really nice. He would be a cool dad. He's somebody who's really funny and just makes everybody laugh."
Gomez went on to say that she felt a connection to her Hotel Transylvania character Mavis, who longs to become independent of her father Dracula.
"I'm in that place, a little bit. I'm 19, it's fun for me to grow up and I want to see places, too," she explained. "I get to travel, and I'm very lucky to get to go to the places that I get to go to, but I have never been to these places alone or with my friends. I've never had that.
"I think I'm going through what she is going through, doing things on my own a little more. I am getting a little bit of that freedom. And I'm kind of quirky, like Mavis."
Gomez stepped into Hotel Transylvania earlier this year to replace Miley Cyrus.
Hotel Transylvania is scheduled for release on October 12 in the UK and September 21 in the US.
