The Twilight and Up in the Air actress will lead the cast of the project, reports Deadline.
The film is the latest from Kissing on the Mouth director Joe Swanberg.
It will be produced by Andrea Roa, Anish Savajani and Alica van Couvering.
The project is one in a long list of upcoming films for the actress, who will next appear in voice form in stop motion animation ParaNorman next month.
Kendrick will also star in David Ayer's cop drama End of Watch, the musical Pitch Perfect and Robert Redford's political thriller The Company You Keep.
