Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts will star in the black comedy, which is adapted by screenwriter Tracy Letts (Killer Joe) from his own play.

According to Collider, Breslin will play the acerbic, pot-smoking daughter of Roberts's character, who is in turn the daughter of Streep's on-screen persona.
George Clooney and Grant Heslov are producing August: Osage County, which follows three generations of women in a dysfunctional family who are brought back to their childhood home by a crisis.
John Wells (The Company Men, The West Wing) is set to direct.
Julia Roberts has expressed her excitement about working with Streep on the film.
