One Direction have reportedly upset Capital FM following their Brit Awards acceptance speech last night.

The group won the ceremony's 'British Single' gong, which was voted for by listeners of Global Radio's Capital FM and iTunes users.

However, band member Harry Styles thanked BBC Radio 1 when collecting the award, which was broadcast to over 6 million people on ITV1.

Global Radio boss Ashley Tabor and director of programming Richard Park, who were both at the ceremony, were said to be upset by the slip, reports The Guardian.

A planned appearance from One Direction at the Capital FM studios was allegedly dropped instantly and the report suggests that the boyband have been bumped down the station's playlists.

An industry source revealed: "One Direction, as far as Capital are concerned, are only going in one direction."

Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles was quick to make light of the gaffe by tweeting: "Best British single voted by listeners to Capital FM, One Direction. Harry Styles said 'a massive thank you to Radio 1' HaHa Nice one!"
