Blur tickets search spike during Brit Awards 2012 performance

Blur have experienced a surge in ticket demand following their performance at the Brit Awards 2012.

The band closed this year's ceremony after receiving the 'Outstanding Contribution To Music' award at the O2 Arena last night (February 21).

Online tickets searches for their gigs increased by 311%, despite the Olympic closing ceremony show their only confirmed date in the UK so far.

Ed Parkinson, director of viagogo UK, said: "Blur's performance at the Brits last night appears to have sparked '90s nostalgia and reminded fans what a great live act they are.

"The demand we are experiencing for Blur tickets shows the power of live performance at a prestigious music awards like the Brits."

Blur also saw sales of their albums increase by 2,700% following their set, which included renditions of 'Parklife' and 'Girls & Boys'.
