Lily Allen: 'Cutting off Adele at Brits is metaphor for music sexism'

Lily Allen has slammed the decision to cut short Adele's acceptance speech at last night's Brit Awards.
The It's Not Me, It's You singer-songwriter believes that the incident served as a symbol of negative bias against women in the music industry.
Allen tweeted: "I'd rather hear adeles acceptance speech. I can't say I'm surprised. It was like the music industry's attitude to women played out as a metaphor."
Other music stars, such as Kimberley Walsh and Mollie King, also took to the social networking site to express their dissatisfaction over the move.
Girls Aloud's Walsh commented: "Still can't actually believe they cut Adele of last night!" followed by the hastag, "#baffled".
The Saturdays star King said: "Soooo what did everyone think of the Brits?? Anyone else want to hear what @Adele had to say?? 10 o'clock news??...10 o'clock snooze!!!"
Meanwhile, Professor Green wrote: "Can't say I agreed with the cutting off of Adele"
Host James Corden has already admitted that he was "upset" about having to stop the Grammy superstar, suggesting ITV ought to have delayed News at Ten.
Shortly after ceasing transmission, ITV released a statement apologising for the situation.
