The Wet Wet Wet frontman will appear in the upcoming 'new generation' version of Jeff Wayne's classic 1978 musical adaption of HG Wells's sci-fi novel.
Pellow joins a new cast featuring a holographic version of Liam Neeson, Jason Donovan and Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson.
The singer will play the 'Voice of Humanity' in the new tour, and will sing the track 'Thunder Child'.
"I am so looking forward to working on Jeff Wayne's classic The War of The Worlds," Pellow said in a statement.
"I think Jeff's idea of the New Generation is wonderful. It says to me The War of The Worlds is still about that original amazing piece - but it's also about turning new people on to Jeff's vision, it delivers so much more to the original fans and will massively inspire new ones."
The tour will begin in Dublin on November 29, before 15 shows across Scotland, England and Wales.
