The band confessed that they are still very much comfortable with one another from their years of touring together, so it won't take much preparation to get back up to standard for the gig.
''The amazing thing is, we don't seem to need that much rehearsal. It's still totally locked in from all those years of playing together," Alex James told The Sun.
''When we first started out together, being in a band was all we wanted to do and it was always approached with a great sense of joy and fun.
"It's great to leave it then be able to come back to it with that spirit we had in the beginning. We all just get really excited.''
Blur will perform a headline set as part of BT London Live's series of Olympic Games gigs in Hyde Park on August 12.
The band will play their recent cuts 'Under the Westway' and 'The Puritan' at the show. Both tracks are available to download now.
