The Canadian singer claimed the longest reign at number one on the US Hot 100 for a female artist signed to Interscope with her international hit 'Call Me Maybe'.
The track spends a seventh week at the summit, overtaking Lady GaGa's 'Born This Way', which led the chart for six weeks back in 2011, reports Billboard.
"@carlyraejepson I SEE you just swooped in and broke my BORN THIS WAY record of the most weeks at #1. DONT GET COMFORTABLE IM COMING FOR YOU," GaGa joked on Twitter.
The superstar was then contacted by fans who pointed out that she had spelled Jepsen's surname wrong and so the message went to a fake account.
Lady GaGa will announce the details of her third studio album in September.
