Drake and Rihanna have both earned five nominations this year, putting them ahead of fellow multiple nominees Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj.
Kevin Hart hosts the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, airing live from the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 6 at 8/7c.
