X Factor contestants with so much as a hint of personality are often doomed from the off, destined to divide public opinion and ultimately lose out to the more inoffensive among the crop. In that sense, for Misha B - who was fit to burst with star quality on last year's show - to reach the semi-finals was a considerable feat in itself.
Her debut single follows a similar ham-fisted approach to her song choices on the programme, chucking soul, R&B, grime and pop into the kitchen sink and seeing how it pans out. "Tonight I wanna be a rebel," she giggles over a mix of military drums and swirling sirens that plots somewhere between Nicki Minaj and Missy Elliot. The result is fresh, exciting and best of all, unmistakably Misha.
