By Alex Fletcher | You have to start worrying when even the Gallagher brothers can manage to get their heads around this downloading malarkey. If even the mono-browed, monkey-walking duo can figure their way through the confusion of mpegs and download speeds then maybe we truly have seen the end of the humble old-fashioned CD single as we once knew it. While we could spend many an hour imagining the sort of conversations the pair had about releasing their new single as a download-only (what's this eye-tuuunes about, our kid?); what's equally fun is whipping out our Brit-pop air guitars, Ben Sherman shirts and head-banging along to this galloping tune like it's 1995 and we've just finished watching a particularly good episode of TFI Friday.
There's always a tinge of disappointment when Oasis decide to relieve Liam of his snarling frontman duties - Noel's high pitched strained holler never quite reaches the notes. However, judging from his recent Brits performance, maybe it's best that Gallagher Jnr is left to rest his aching vocal chords and gets on a medicated cycle of Lemsip. Plus, Noel does seem to be getting the hang of this frontman business. Admittedly, the fuzzed up guitars and taut guitar riffs nicked from Black Rebel Motorcycle certainly help, but it's Noel's growled hook of: "Me and you are gonna shoot em up", which leaves you like a greedy child in a chocolate factory, coming back for more.
