Cheryl Cole thanks 'soldiers' for fastest-selling 2012 No.1

Cheryl Cole has thanked her "soldiers" for helping her reach number one with her latest single.

'Call My Name' became the star's third solo number one single, and continued her trend of scoring chart toppers with lead singles from each of her albums.

It has also become the fastest selling number one of 2012 so far, selling 152,001 copies in its first week.

She tweeted: "152,000 WOW.. Woah.. #SoldierdontplaytheySLAY #Saluteeeeeee *bbmdancingman* #BiggestTrackOfTheYear (sic).

"Thank you Sooo much !! Congrats !! :D".

Before the chart was announced earlier this evening (June 17), Cole stated her excitement over hearing where she had landed, writing: "I feel like a kid.. Lol! The excitement is killing me !! .. Call My Name is about to chart Officially and AMillionLights is hrs away.. OMG!!"

Cole's third studio album A Million Lights will be released tomorrow (June 18).

She performed a set of tracks from the new LP at London's G-A-Y nightclub last night.
