
The Saturdays star won awards as a youngster in the sport, but decided to choose a career in music.
"I was an all-Ireland champion when I was a child," she is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"If I had kept it up maybe I would have been able to swim at London 2012, but I fell in love with music."
Healy will appear as a judge alongside Martine McCutcheon, Rio Ferdinand and Andrew Flintoff in ITV1's sport-themed talent show Let's Get Gold.
Let's Get Gold will see 15 sports teams compete over three nights, in order to win a prize of £100,000.
The show launches tonight (July 5) at 9pm on ITV1. It will air for three consecutive nights, concluding on Saturday (July 7).
Una Healy got married to her rugby star partner Ben Foden at the weekend (June 30).
