26-year-old Zentil Vanzellas was arrested in 2010 for harassing the 'Rude Boy' singer and sentenced to serve a year in the LA County Jail.
Vanzellas was released in June 2011 after serving 277 days of the sentence, and was placed on three years' probation.
His probation rules stipulate that he must stay 500 yards away from the singer for the next ten years.
However Vanzellas has told TMZ that despite the fact that he currently lives in the same city as Rihanna, he has no plans to harass her in the future and is "sorry" for causing her trouble.
Rihanna, who is set to appear in a candid interview with Oprah Winfrey in the US tonight (August 19), has not commented publicly on Vanzellas's release.
