The Twitter user behind death threats sent to Natasha Giggs has claimed that the account is "fake".

The user, whose account name is listed as Jersey Justin, attracted the attention of the Celebrity Big Brother housemate when he sent a number of threatening messages to her on the micro-blogging website.

Branding himself "twitter's first killer tweeter", one of his tweets claimed: "I will enjoy you more than enyone previous! U deserve it the most u r worthy!!! I can't wait to see the pain and fear in yr eyes @NatashaGiggs (sic)".

Giggs, who revealed that she had had an eight-year affair with her brother-in-law Ryan Giggs last year, reported the messages to police, telling followers that she was a "little disturbed".

However, 'Justin' has since said that Giggs is "safe", calling on police not to go to any effort in an attempt to find him: "I think its hard to find me, but i have alot to lose if the police do, so i repeat..call it quits..natasha is safe!"

He added: "u cant do anything in private anymore! if the papers leave me out of tomoros papers i will give 500 pounds to a kids charity tomoro 100%!"
