The actor makes his Walford debut tonight (June 22) as his character Joey Branning has an angry showdown with dad Derek.
Witts told the site: "I'm just looking forward to getting on screen now, really. While I'm on the train going home, that's when everyone's going to be watching it - which is gutting, really, but I'll watch it later!
"I'll hate it, I think. That's the main thing, I'll absolutely hate it. It's like anything - even if you just see yourself on a family video tape, you always hate yourself. You hate how you sound and how you talk and things like that.
"So I will hate it, but hopefully not everyone else who watches it will hate it. Otherwise that would probably mean me getting the sack!"
EastEnders airs Joey's arrival tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
