'Coronation Street' Lewis Archer return seen by 8.7m

Coronation Street was close to the 9m mark on Friday evening with Lewis Archer's return to the programme, overnight figures show.
Coronation Street pulled in 8.63m (37.8%) at 7.30pm and 174k (0.7%) on ITV1+1 for Tyrone's proposal to Kirsty. The second episode of the double bill, which saw Audrey and Gail bump into Lewis at a country pub, grabbed 8.73m (35.7%) at 8.30pm and 211k (0.9%) on +1.


EastEnders, meanwhile, attracted 8.36m (35.3%) at 8pm as Tamwar and Afia's problems continued. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 869k (4.4%) at 10pm.
Emmerdale interested 7.49m (34.3%) at 7pm with the aftermath of John Barton's death, while 130k (0.5%) tuned in on timeshift.
Hollyoaks managed 730k (3.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Joel was at the centre of trouble in the village, while E4's first look appealed to 469k (2.2%) at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5, Home and Away had 441k (5.1%) at 1.15pm and Neighbours followed with 743k (8.7%) at 1.45pm.
Later, a double bill of Neighbours started with 659k (4.8%) at 5pm and continued with 1.01m (6.0%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away's double bill entertained 795k (4.1%) at 6pm and 787k (3.8%) at 6.30pm. 5*'s first look at events in Summer Bay was seen by 252k (1.2%) at the unusual time of 7pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors - titled 'A Taste of Honey' - mustered 1.66m (19.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
