Steve Jobs honoured by Barack Obama, George Lucas at Webby Awards

Apple's late co-founder Steve Jobs received tributes from a host of high-profile stars at last night's (May 21) Webby Awards ceremony.

US president Barack Obama, filmmaker George Lucas and U2 frontman Bono were among those to hail the tech mastermind in a moving video played at the event.



Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Jon Stewart, Sarah Silverman and Arianna Huffington were among the other celebrities to praise the former Apple CEO. Each participant sang Jobs's praises in five words before Obama closed the tribute with some concluding remarks.

"The truth is, we're talking about Steve Jobs, we only need one word: amazing," said the American head of state.

Jobs, who died last October after a battle with cancer, received a posthumous Grammy Award in December of that year. Special footage was played during this year's Academy Awards in his memory.

Ashton Kutcher will play the role of the Apple co-founder in Sony Pictures's upcoming movie Jobs, which is based on Walter Isaacson's best-selling biography Steve Jobs.
