Amazon is piloting a scheme to allow UK customers to collect their purchase from local stores.

The online retailer is delivering goods such as books and clothing to more than 5,000 corner shops and newsagents for buyers to pick up.

According to The Telegraph, the system will be implemented across Great Britain should the trial prove a success.

Amazon has teamed up with courier Collect+ to offer the service, a company which is also utilised by eBay, Topshop, Asda, Asos and more.

Customers can take advantage of the system to ensure their goods do not end up at postage depots if delivered while they are not home, or to return goods they are not satisfied with.

Amazon customers can locate their nearest stores offering the service through the Collect+ website.
