Big Brother 2013: Are you Team Gina or Team Sallie? Vote now!
With such a heated feud sparking so early and the pair being unable to stand in the same room without looking like they're about to spontaneously combust, it's clear that there's no going back. A line has been drawn in the Big Brother sand and sooner or later everyone is going to need to pick a side.

Sallie Axl
For now the house seems to have almost unanimously sided with Sallie, and after launch night we too were right behind the tattooed, fire-breathing glamour model. Gina was an absolute terror in the immediate aftermath of her arrival. She played right into the selfish, shallow, entitled, deluded, uber-Gatsby character that had been created for her in her VT, moaning endlessly about how she couldn't possibly share a bed because her boyfriend, her boyfriend, her boyfriend, declining to shut up even when numerous reasonable solutions were presented to her. In her eyes, none of them were good enough.
And of course complaining about how you don't have make-up wipes when the people whose house you've just barged into don't have clothes is just not on. Neither is thinking you have the right to lash out at someone you don't like in a heavily-monitored and controlled environment as if it's the kerb outside Yates's (although actually we highly doubt Gina's ever heard of Yates's).

But when the sun rose the next day, we can't have been the only ones who started seeing Sallie in a less favourable light. Her early morning attack on Gina seemed excessive and uncalled for, especially when both were content to just avoid each other. Gina may have got the formal warning, but both of their arguments were started by Sallie.
Watching the episode, we could see that Gina was clearly affected by the fights, hiding behind shades and shuffling around the house like a broken woman. Sallie, meanwhile, appearing to revel in having everyone agree with her about how awful the Savoy socialite is, and parlayed that into making sure everyone heard and relinquished to her opinions - that Gina is a mole, that her guess in the 'secrets' task was the right one, that eating Michael Dylan's 'Head of Household' sweets would get their suitcases back.

Although Gina is probably still the 'villain' of this rivalry due to the catastrophically bad first impression she made, we at Reality Bites put it to you that she and Sallie are as bad as each other. Both could be accused of making trouble and attention-seeking (make-up wipe-gate VS sweets-gate), both are guilty of flinging appalling insults at the other ("She's the skidmark of society" / "You look like a prostitute"), and neither looks about to do the mature thing and bury the hatchet.
There is no middle ground - you cannot be boring and say "I like them both", or, more likely, "I hate them both". You'd never get away with it in that house-cum-battleground. So, where do your loyalties lie? Are you Team Gina or Team Sallie? Vote in our poll and leave your comments below!
Big Brother 2013 'Secrets and Lies' Launch Show 2: Live blog
The dust has barely settled in the house (and we don't mean from all that shredded luggage) and yet already another bunch of plucky housemates is set to join the ranks.
Last night, Emma Willis confirmed herself as a cracking host (apologies, Dowling) while the likes of mackerel-enthusiast Wolfy, clothes-shy Sallie and 'People's Puppet' come 'Dodgy Actor' Michael made themselves at home.
Tonight, Digital Spy is on hand with the cheers and jeers as we say hello to the second intake. Good luck, everyone...

'The Voice' UK: Can Leah McFall save the BBC talent show?

© BBC / Wall to Wall
Leah McFall
Last week, The Voice UK's series one winner stumbled to a chart position outside the top 100. Meanwhile, the show, for a second year in a row, took a big tumble in the ratings after yet more jigging around in the schedules from the BBC. Despite a third series already being recommissioned, things were looking bleak.
But this week, there was a glimmer of hope for The Voice UK. A Belfast girl called Leah McFall is one of the final eight contestants on this year's show. And whisper it quietly, but she could possibly, maybe, be a star in the making.
She looks likely to achieve the show's first ever Top 10 single with her cover of 'I Will Survive' this weekend, pop production powerhouse will.i.am is in love with her and she oozes cool. So could she save the reality show's bacon?
Digital Spy's pop and showbiz experts give their verdict on the exciting 23-year-old singer.

Leah McFall
Digital Spy's Music Reporter - Lewis Corner
She's the contestant who could possibly achieve The Voice UK's highest charting position before she's even competed in the semi-finals, so Leah McFall clearly knows how to shift a few records. Whether the success is down to the alternative spin of a karaoke favourite or the performer herself is yet to be seen, but one thing's for certain: McFall can really sing.
The winner will sign to Universal Music, and if Leah really does go all the way, the company has a roster that already complements her style. Before her time on the show, McFall regularly posted soulful covers of modern and classic R&B. It's clear that she belongs to Island Records; a label who currently boast signings including Florence + the Machine, The Weeknd and Jessie Ware, as well as developing the career of the late Amy Winehouse.
McFall's ability to effortlessly acrobat through several registers, while enchanting an audience with her smokey tones shows that she can cut it on the live circuit - which is where most artists make their money these days.
However, the real test will come in the studio. The public prefer an artist who can write their own songs. Leah's alternative sound and image requires her to be an artist in every sense of the word in order to make her presence on the music scene credible. Her future status as The Voice UK's first true star depends on whether she can surpass her quirky covers and become an original talent in her own right - and if she manages that, then the world really is her oyster.

Leah McFall has an amazing voice, that much we know. But the problem is that's pretty much all we know about her. Being the most popular out of 12 people when you're getting major exposure on a weekly basis is easy. The hard part is remaining as prolific in the big wide world where there's countless stars around you, and long gaps between singles and albums where you're supposed to make your own news.
Arguably the most successful acts from last year's Voice were Bo Bruce and Tyler James, who could market a Danny O'Donoghue 'showmance' and a connection to the late Amy Winehouse respectively. Over on X Factor, contestants like Rylan, Jedward and Stacey Solomon have been able to forge long-lasting careers for themselves off the strength of their personalities. We're not sure if Leah has a personality - and that's not us being mean, it's just never been shown.
One of the few things The Voice has established about Leah is that she's fashionable. She's achingly stylish and drips cool even before she opens her mouth - she's the sort of person that would make your publication seem more on-trend by association. Journalists will want to talk to her, even if they're not entirely sure what she's going to say. Glossy fashion shoots in prestigious publications where she chats about her style icons combined with column inches dedicated to an eye-catching outfit in the tabloids will help her maintain a mass appeal.

Leah McFall
It pains us to say this, but as a young, pretty girl people are also going to want to romantically link her to others (there's already been a story this week about her dating fellow Voice contestant Karl Michael). The harsh reality is that Leah may have to steel herself, roll her eyes at the silly stories behind closed doors and be content with the fact that people want to write about her. Of course she can correct false rumour, of course she can avoid leading an overly showbiz, 'turn up to an opening of an envelope' life if she wants to, but she probably shouldn't shut down certain topics of discussion altogether.
There are musicians out there that gain huge success while remaining relatively quiet and private, people like Adele and fellow talent show alum Leona Lewis. If Leah is lucky enough to get to the stage where she can achieve massive record sales without all the press hassle, then great. But to get there, she might need to prove she's more than a voice.

Big Brother: What do you want to see in the new series?
Gone are the days of Jade, mad Nikki Grahame, Fight Night and Nasty Nick. It feels like a long time ago when going in the Big Brother house was a guaranteed route to five minutes of fame, a slot on Hole in the Wall and a tacky magazine deal, even if you just spent 34 days belly-down on a beanbag.

'The Voice' UK Top 8: Digital Spy's rankings
Digital Spy's readers have been voting for their favourite contestants and the results are in. Keep reading to find out the latest Voice rankings from 1 to 8.
1. Leah McFall - 47.60%
She was the hot favourite before show one and remains so after her breathtaking version of 'I Will Survive' blew everyone away on Friday night.
2. Mike Ward - 11.29%
The country music heartthrob actually delivered one of his weakest vocal performances of the series, but he still remains popular with our readers.
3. Cleo Higgins - 8.55%
She may have too much attitude for some, but the 'Comin' Atcha' popstar is still picking up your votes. Can she make it all the way to the final?
4. Andrea Begley - 7.98%
Sympathy vote or serious contender? Whatever your verdict on Andrea, she's clearly picking up fan support from a significant section of viewers.
5. Ash Morgan - 7.82%
The big man is the most talked-about member of Team Jessie, but he's losing ground on the show's favourites in our poll.
6. Karl Michael - 7.19%
He gave a strong performance on Friday night with his version of 'A Thousand Years', but we can't help but feel that Karl might be left making up the numbers in the semi-final.
7. Matt Henry - 5.26%
He's still got the jazziest moves and outfits, but there's something about Matt that means we can take him totally seriously as a potential show winner.
8. Joseph Apostol - 4.32%
We've still got a soft spot for the Big J, his mum and his dodgy pink bomber jacket, but he's bottom of our readers' rankings this week. Poor Joseph.
The Voice UK semi-final airs on Saturday (June 15) at 7pm on BBC One.
