Phillip Schofield has admitted that he loves the rows on Dancing on Ice.

The presenter had previously hit out at viewers who continued to call for Jason Gardiner to be sacked following his on-air spat with colleague Karen Barber.

"I loved the rows," Schofield told New magazine. "Jason Gardiner doesn't have a self-edit button. He will say what he thinks and we're there to pick up the pieces afterwards."

He continued: "I can't stand this attitude that the professionally outraged have when they call for someone to be sacked at the drop of a hat. With Jason and Karen, people were calling for one or both of them to go.

"Lighten up, for God's sake, it's a television show."

The 48-year-old was also inundated with complaints from "outraged" viewers when 'Comedy' Dave Vitty was voted off the ITV1 skating show.
