Jill Halfpenny has revealed her interest in the vacant judging role on Strictly Come Dancing.

The Coronation Street, EastEnders and Waterloo Road actress admitted that she would struggle to turn down an offer for the BBC ballroom dancing show.

"I haven't had a call yet," she told TV Buzz. "But I'd be crazy to turn it down if one does come. I love the show."

Halfpenny, who won the 2004 series of Strictly, is in the running to replace new Britain's Got Talent star Alesha Dixon.

Veteran panellist Bruno Tonioli recently backed her for the role along with 2010 champion Kara Tointon.

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Karen Hardy is the current favourite, while ex-judge Arlene Phillips has also been linked to the spot.
