Big Brother: Housemates compete in 'Potat-Off' task

Big Brother housemates took part in a 'potat-off' today, as a task was set to create and cook the best potato-based dish.

The task was presided over by Jersey native Lauren Carre, who hails from an area renowned for the quality and quantity of its potato farming.

She was tasked with selecting the two best chefs in the house to head up two separate teams, who would then cook their recipe using ingredients supplied by Big Brother.

The two chefs hand picked by Lauren were Luke Scrase and, unsurprisingly, Luke Anderson, who has a background as a professional chef, and joked that his career would "be in tatters" if he didn't win the task.

Sure enough, his dish of 'Potato gnocchi รก la Schlong' won high praise from Lauren, whereas Luke S's dish 'Silky Reds' was less successful, containing a seemingly random assortment of ingredients including tobacco and ketchup.

During the task, Luke S took the opportunity to explain kitchen etiquette to Adam, saying that he should be addressed as 'chef' at all times, while Luke S took the opportunity to indulge his inner Jamie by occasionally dropping Oliver-esque lines like "I'm going to plate this bad boy up."

As his prize, Luke A won an alfresco dinner with Lauren in the garden, while the other housemates took the opportunity to jump on the spud bandwagon by preparing some potato dishes of their own.
