William Shatner has signed up for a guest role on ABC drama Rookie Blue.
The actor will play a drunk driver in the show's third season premiere, according to TV Line.
"[The role] starts comic and ends dramatic, so we're hoping it gives him a chance to do what he does so well," explained executive producer Tassie Cameron. "He's got such great range."
Cameron added that the cop show's cast are looking forward to working with the Star Trek veteran.
"We're all really excited that he said yes," she said. "Gregory Smith (Dov Epstein), I think, is more excited about this than he is about any actor he's ever worked with."
Shatner will also appear in the sixth season premiere of USA's Psych and recently criticised CBS for axing his sitcom $#*! My Dad Says.
Rookie Blue was officially picked up for a third season in July, with production on new episodes currently ongoing in Toronto, Canada.
The show's second season concludes with a double bill this Thursday at 10/9c on ABC.
