The half-hour multi-camera series will be co-written and produced by Canadian Jason Belleville, who co-created Canadian series Almost Heroes.
The sitcom will be centred around a small-town volunteer fire department, according to Deadline.
This will be the third series that Lawrence has sold in the first development season, following a father-son single-camera pilot on Fox and a multi-camera workplace comedy for CBS with Greg Malins.
Lawrence will also continue to work on the third season of ABC's Cougar Town.
Cougar Town will return to ABC in November.
