Katy Perry to play prison attendant in 'Raising Hope'

Katy Perry is to guest star on Fox sitcom Raising Hope.
The 'Part of Me' singer will play a prison attendant named Rikki who claims to be a friend from one of the characters' pasts.
In the episode, Sabrina (Shannon Woodward) is sentenced to two weeks in prison for participating in an Occupy Natesville protest.
Perry's character plans to make Sabrina's time in prison miserable until she remembers their childhood friendship.
"Shannon Woodward is my best friend," Perry revealed. "A couple weeks ago, I was home, just toasting up a frozen chicken fillet when she called me up and asked if I wanted to do something 'fun' for a change and try out a guest role on her TV show.
"I thought, 'Sure, I have nothing else to do, and I like chillin' with my best friend'."
Executive producer Greg Garcia said that Perry "came in and did a terrific job".
Perry went on to quip: "Greg was nice, but I hope he's not secretly sabotaging my potential future career by type-casting me in the role of just a looker, so that I would never be able to play anything more challenging."
The popstar's episode will kick off Raising Hope's new time slot at 8pm ET on March 6.
