Kevin Hart has been confirmed to host the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.
The stand-up comedian, who delivered the opening monologue during the 2011 ceremony, will helm the live awards show next month, reports MTV News.
A video marking the announcement was released on Wednesday, showing Hart attempting to pair himself up with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West as he prepares for the big event, only to be met with rejection as he suggests that the trio wear matching outfits and sneakers.
The full list of nominees was unveiled last month, with Rihanna and Drake each picking up five. West is also up for several awards, both as a solo act and alongside Jay-Z for their Watch the Throne album.
Online voting is open to fans for all categories at the MTV website.
The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 6 at 8/7c.
