At the party, Jim admits to George that he is worried about Stephanie. They chat to Cordero and afterwards leave the bar together. Cordero admits that part of him wishes he'd never applied for a transfer, and the trio say goodbye. They go in separate directions but a car appears and shoots Cordero. Jim and George rush over and call an ambulance. The next day, George finds Jim at the station and reveals that Cordero has died. Two detectives arrive and explain that they are dealing with Cordero's case. They suggest that someone wants it to look as if it was a gang crime, and Jim offers to help if they need it. Cordero's wife Marta arrives and thanks Jim and George. She adds that she thinks Cordero knew it was coming, explaining that there was a "trial" he was working on which was keeping him up at night. She admits that she has never seen him so worried before.
Back at home, Daphne informs JJ that Lichfield was worried about someone hurting him if JJ did not complete the equations. Stephanie overhears the conversation and tells JJ not to do any more work for Lichfield until she talks to him. She is acting strangely but insists that she is fine. At school, Chris asks Daphne to come to his workplace and use her powers to make his boss give him a raise. Daphne is reluctant as it is like stealing but eventually agrees, although she seems uncomfortable with the plan. She goes to the garage where Chris works but claims her powers didn't work. Chris realises that she didn't want to do it and didn't try but Daphne says it doesn't feel right to use her powers for personal gain. Chris says his family really needs the money and angrily walks off.
At Global Tech, Stephanie looks at Katie's test results and reveals that there is no trilsettum in her blood. Katie is worried about having a 'super baby' but Stephanie reassures her and tells her to see an OBGYN, handing over the details of Dr Klein, who delivered JJ and Daphne. She speeds off to go and see Lichfield at JJ's school, but disappears into a flash of light again. She emerges in the school and sees George running past her, but he cannot hear her. She follows him and discovers Daphne and JJ covered in dirt and hiding in a classroom. George quickly hands them some food and water but suddenly some soldiers and agents arrive. George claims that the room is clear but JJ knocks something over and the soldiers try to get in. George holds them off as the kids run away. Stephanie tries to follow them but is shocked to see a calendar showing the date March 31. She is pulled back into the light and returns to Global Tech, where Katie confirms the date is March 29. Stephanie realises she ran into the future.
Elsewhere, Jim looks up details of cases relating to Cordero and George spots that the ADA on one of them is a friend, Tyler. They go to see Tyler, who reveals that Cordero wanted to meet in private as he had evidence to submit. He explains that Cordero didn't want to discuss it over the phone and Jim realises that someone was trying to keep him quiet. Back at home, Stephanie informs the family that in two days they will be exposed and taken into military custody. She explains that she can now travel into the future. Jim points out that no-one can know about their secret and Daphne reluctantly admits that she told Chris about their powers. Stephanie tells her to find Chris and find out whether he told anyone. Later, Jim meets George at Cordero's house, which has been broken into. Marta explains that the perpetrators left without taking anything but the police found a safe and have gone to get a locksmith. Jim secretly uses his strength to open the safe - inside are some files on police personnel. Jim and George realise that Cordero was about to expose a dirty cop. They return to the precinct, but George leaves to prepare his speech for Cordero's memorial. One of the detectives involved in the case - O'Bannon - asks to speak to Jim. He confirms that Cordero was investigating dirty cops and one of the officers involved is working in their precinct. He asks Jim to meet him in a car park in 30 minutes so he can show him the evidence. Jim agrees, but when he arrives a car drives past and shoots at him. Jim survives because of his powers and realises that O'Bannon was behind it.
Back at home, Stephanie informs JJ that she is going to speed over to Global Tech, who have some military contracts. She rushes into the future again and, in her lab, discovers Katie being interrogated. Katie refuses to give up any information about the Powells and makes some smart remarks. The main agent questioning her pushes her up against a wall to arrest her, but Katie collapses to the floor clutching her stomach and explaining that she is pregnant. Stephanie looks over and sees a news report on the television, which informs her that the Powells are being pursued in connection with "the event". She hears that the incident happened two days ago - in other words, in the present day. When she returns home, she informs JJ that they are about to be exposed but she can't get in touch with Jim. She says that she will have to run to City Square - where the event happened - to find out how they are discovered. JJ warns her that time travel is dangerous and she has been lucky so far, but Stephanie asks him to figure out when she needs to leave to arrive at City Square so that she can see the event. JJ figures it out but warns Stephanie that it is very dangerous. She rushes off. Daphne receives a text from Chris and tells JJ that he wants to meet in City Square. Stephanie arrives in City Square in the future and sees George giving his memorial speech. She sees Daphne with Chris and spots Jim arrive. Jim sees a sniper pointing at George and rushes over. A cameraman sees him and follows him as Jim arrives at the sniper and pushes his car away. The cameraman films as the car flies through the air. Stephanie is pushed back to the present and tells JJ that they have to stop Jim from saving George's life.
Back at home, Daphne admits that she can control people's thoughts. Stephanie and Jim are annoyed that she hadn't told them before but tell her that she now needs to use them to keep the family safe. They explain that she has to make Chris forget about their powers. Daphne doesn't want to do it, but Stephanie and Jim are insistent. At school the next day, Chris apologises to Daphne for asking her to use her skills on his boss and promises he won't do it again. Daphne reluctantly erases his memories about the powers but, when she kisses him, he has completely forgotten that they were ever a couple and walks off, telling her to stay away from him. JJ arrives, explaining that Lichfield hasn't been at school and no-one knows where he is. However, he notices that Daphne is upset and she explains that Chris forgot about their relationship. The pair hug.
Meanwhile, Katie arrives for her appointment and the nurse reveals that Dr Klein is just parking his car. In the car park, Klein is approached by Victoria, who beats him with a crowbar and assumes his identity. She carries out Katie's ultrasound and uses a needle to test the amniotic fluid. Later, Victoria finds Mrs X and confirms that Katie is pregnant. Mrs X looks at the test results and is surprised to discover that the baby has powers which are fully integrated with its DNA. She tells Victoria to bring the baby to them, adding that she knows she has feelings for its father, 'Joshua'. She tells Victoria that she can be the baby's mother. Victoria asks about Katie, but Mrs X says that as soon as she is delivered the child, she will be useless. "You know how I feel about useless things," she says. "Congratulations, you'll make a wonderful mother."
