Future episodes of the Sarah Michelle Gellar drama would feature fewer flashbacks, the showrunner told The Hollywood Reporter.
"If you think about the past season, it had a lot of backstory," she said. "The beauty of another season would be that we'd live in the present, only in the present.
"That's the beauty of answering all the questions [in the first season finale]. All the secrets are out and past, and now it's the consequences of both the lies and the truth."
Veasey previously suggested that Ringer's low ratings were a result of the show's "complex" storylines.
"The ratings were a challenge to understand," she said. "It has to do with all this brilliantly new technology that people are downloading and tweeting.
"We [were] the most downloaded [television series] from iTunes, and the most this and the most that [online]."
The future of Ringer has yet to be confirmed by The CW, with Tuesday night's finale attracting 1.2m viewers in the US. The series airs on Sky Living in the UK.
