The 29-year-old revealed that he'd like the CW series to end with Stefan and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) closer than ever.
"I hope that the finale of The Vampire Diaries, period, whatever season it may be, ends with [Stefan and Damon] united - as lovers," Wesley joked to TV Guide.
"Just kidding! [I want them] as brothers who love each other," he added.
Wesley went on to say that his favourite episode of the past season was 'The End of the Affair', which featured a flashback to the 1920s.
Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev recently discussed the twist at the end of season three, in which Elena sacrificed herself to save Matt (Zach Roerig) only to die and become a vampire.
She confessed that playing two vampires in the new season of The Vampire Diaries will be a challenge.
